Random pictures

It's been a while since I've updated.  Nothing much new is going on here.  I started homeschooling both Sam and Ben and it's going really well.  They are learning so much!  Church is going really well and we just love Gainesville.  Our most recent family hobby is shark-tooth collecting in the creeks here.  So far we've found probably over 200!  I'll have to post some pictures of that sometime.  Sam is now 7 and his teeth are falling out like crazy.  I can't believe how big he's getting, but he's still my sweet little boy.  Ben is 5 1/2 and doing really well.  He's reading probably at a third grade level.  His obsession is Legos!  He plays with them for hours every day.  Nate is still Nate.  Our little politician.  :)  He is a sweet and mischievous little boy.  He'll be 4 in February!

It's been a long time since I posted pictures.  Here are a few random ones from the past few months.

The boys were catching frogs in our backyard, and here's one that Sam is proud of (not too sure if the frog is happy):

Our kitchen remodel

Okay, so we are just about completely finished with our kitchen remodel.  Below, you'll see a "before" picture and a few "after" ones.  We still need to put up the crown molding and replace the dishwasher, but let me know what you think.  We did everything ourselves (Joel did most of it, of course - it's so nice being married to a handyman!).   I bought the barstools with the giftcard from the ladies of NLB! Thanks ladies!

Oh, I forgot to say a big thanks to Joel Kim for all his hard work in helping Joel!!  My Joel put Joel K. to hard work when he helped him with the move.  Joel K. stripped all that hideous pastel wallpaper and I'm sure numerous other tasks! Thanks Joel!!

Rapper's Delight

Thanks to my sister, the boys love their new "Rapper's Delight" purple singing frog (you know, one of those annoying stuffed animals that you squeeze its foot in the store and they start playing music loudly and you get embarrassed trying to pretend it wasn't you who started it?  - pardon the run-on sentence).  Here the boys show their moves in full force. I hope you can hear the frog singing in the background.  Enjoy!

Hi!!!

Okay, Xanga has changed a bit since I last posted on here and it's sad to say I can't keep up with the new "improved" version.  I'll just give a quick update with no xanga bells and whistles .

The boys and I have been here for 2 weeks already.  It was so nice to see Joel after being apart for 3 weeks!!  We are slowly but surely settling into our house.  There is still a lot of work to be done (the kitchen still isn't up and running; we have to finish the cabinets and backsplash before we can put the appliances in).  But we love it here!  Gainesville is beautiful and the new church is wonderful; the people really made us feel welcome.  The boys seem to be adjusting really well, although Nate and Ben have both been sick (they're better now).  But we miss you all very much!  We'll be back some time later this year, Lord willing. and visit ya'll.

I uploaded a couple of recent random photos from here in my photo album thingy.  You'll see one of the barstools I ordered from Target (thanks ladies of New Life Burbank!!!). There is also one of an alligator that we saw (actually we counted 54 alligators in this one particular pond/lake!!!)  I'll post some more hopefully in the near future.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Ode to Joel

Okay, I thought of writing a cheesy poem for my dear husband, but my creative juices just aren't flowing right now.   He just turned 31 on Sunday!  I can't believe I've been with him for 10 years now (going on 8 years of marital bliss next month).  The boys decided to take him out to BJs for dinner on Sunday and here's a couple of pics:

And here's a video clip of Joel and Sammy singing a duet:
